About
Discover Interior Design
As an interior designer, I am inspired by many things – so many, in fact, that it’s difficult to keep track of everything. As a solution, I have created Discover Interior Design to help organize my design ideas and various inspirations that leave me breathless.
I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things to say, and SO much more to learn. I am always looking for new opportunities to broaden my experience and expand my education. My goals for Discover: ID is to bridge the gap between designers and design-enthusiasts, to advocate the profession of interior design, and to be a great resource for everyone.

About: Me
Hello, hello! My name is Kristin Warbington and I’m a LEED AP Interior Designer based in Georgia (USA). Ever since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to be an interior designer (after my zoologist, meteorologist, and teacher phases that is). I love interior design, architecture, historic preservation, and sustainable design.
My passion for design began early. As a kid, I would start clubs with my best friends and each one focused on several interests. One in particular was all about home décor. We would go into our parent’s home’s or friend’s bedrooms and create new layouts and ideas for their space. Honestly, our parent’s never really knew whether or not they’d come home from work and find the sofa in a new location or not. I must have rearranged my own room at least a hundred times over the course of a few months. Looking back, I think it’s wonderful that our parents never deterred us from doing these things. This could be because we also cleaned their homes in the process! And who would complain about that, right? Hehe…
As I got older, I became more exposed to the world of design. This is largely because my mother watched HGTV a lot… and I would join her. With time, I developed my own tastes and learned more about what interior design really is (and it ain’t what you always see on TV my friends). Truth is, in high school, I never knew you could go to college to become an interior designer. I always thought it was for those that just stumbled into it and were good at it (and for some, this really is the case). So, when I began researching Universities and stumbled upon a school that offered a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design I was shocked! And I instantly knew what I was going to do.
Fast forward a few years later and I now have that Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and I couldn’t be happier. Even in this current economy and knowing that I may not find another job in my field for some time, I still can’t walk away from it. No other medium I have worked with has been as rewarding and challenging to me than interior design. It is my passion.
