Reimagining a Ranch House
Another interior that I loved from the February issue of House Beautiful is Amy Neunsinger’s house in Los Angeles. Amy’s home is a modest ranch house with industrial and southern French details. To quote the article, It’s a “tightrope walk between the old and new, the urban and provincial, the functional and ‘the girly.’”

Design Jargon * Jacquard

Same Idea, two Different Takes
Aren’t these spaces beautiful? They are so different, and yet, essentially the same. Each one is calling me for different reasons, but that red! Wow! Simply gorgeous.

Design Jargon * Byobu
A Byobu (Bee-Yoh-Boo) is a traditional Japanese folding screen made from several joined panels. Each screen is typically painted with a continuous scene across the panels; calligraphy and gold leaf are also common.
