Spark Plugs*Holiday Treats + Good Eats

One of the best things about the holiday season? All of the delicious holiday treats of course!  From roasted chestnuts, gingerbread cookies, and hot cider, to turkey, cranberry sauce, and sugar cookies (LOTS of cookies!) the treats are endless.  Are you drooling yet? I am…

I’m finding myself craving all of these things… and a little saddened by the fact that my family won’t be participating in any traditional holiday feast this Christmas. No ham. No turkey. No stuffing or cranberry sauce.  None of these dishes will be in sight come Christmas.  In fact, we’re having homemade enchiladas.  (Yeah! Enchiladas!)  I’m OK with this – it’ll still taste great and, really, who wants to spend the holiday stuck in the kitchen cooking + cleaning?

But! Every Christmas Eve we create dozens of dishes and snacks to enjoy.  I will still have my cookies, pies, and truffles to indulge in.  Here are some deliciously-inspiring photos of treats I’m thinking about bringing to the table…

3-in-1 Sugar Cookies

Cranberry Tangerine Conserve

Maple Walnut Bûche de Noël

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…”  I’ve never had roasted chestnuts, but have always wanted to try them!

Peppermint Chocolate Cookies

Chocolate Covered Pretzels with Sprinkles – seriously, who ever came up with salty pretzels dipped in chocolate is a genius. I love these things.

Hazelnut Crunch: Noci Croccante

Hazelnut Mocha Macaroons

And what Christmas Eve would be complete without a cocktail?  This Poinsettia cocktail is especially festive with champagne!

(Psst… here’s the Recipe for the Gingerbread Cookies in the first image!)
