Design Resolutions 2010 with KatieDid

Today’s Design Resolutions belong to Katie Denham of katiedid. I was thrilled when Katie so graciously accepted my invitation to participate in the series. For those who don’t regularly follow her blog (or are hearing about her for the first time today), Katie is one heck of a talented, professional interior designer, a wife and a mother and she balances all of these things with her wonderful blog, where she writes about “design and style, those who love it or hate it, creative personalities and new ideas.”

Katie Denham’s Design Resolutions for 2010
1) To try and pinpoint exactly what my personal design style is. There are so many styles I love, it is very hard to limit myself! I suppose my style could be described as “classic with a twist” whether traditional or contemporary, I like things to have staying power. But there has to be a sense of humor in the mix! Getting it just right for myself can sometimes be a challenge! You know, the cobbler wearing old shoes and all that.
2) To finish getting my office in shape! That would include finding conference room chairs, a sofabed, and a couple of armchairs. Another computer for blogging would be nice too!
3) Working on maintaining my personal theory on being “green”….and that is to use antiques and previously owned furniture wherever possible for my design projects. They add value and beauty while limiting waste….a win/win for all concerned!
4) To continue to study design, it’s history and progress. This would include staying abreast of all of the wonderful design blogs out there. They are a wonderful way to keep current. I learn new things daily!

I love katiedid blog! Great resolutions… I can never seem to quite put my finger on my style either… and I would so love to narrow it down. I’ve been reading the book Style Statement to see what my two “words” are as far as style… you should check it out.
Glad you got my card Kristin! It made it, lol. Not as many stamps this time, hahaha.

EEEeeek! I am sooooo late to the party! (the holidays, work, travel and a wrenched back have been keeping me away from my treasured blogging!) Thank you so much for including me in your series. I had so much fun catching up today! You have such a wonderful blog, and I am so impressed with how often you are able to post! I am very remis in getting a link up for your blog, but it is up as of today!!
