My Carbon Footprint

Though I believe in sustainable design (after all, I am LEED accredited), I’m far from an environmentalist. I leave my lights on all the time. I drive my JEEP all over the place and I recycle here and there. I try, but I definitely fall short.
Regardless of what you believe regarding our planet’s climate change, doesn’t it make sense to reduce our electricity consumption, our energy use, our CO2 emissions, our raw material use, waste output (136 million tons a year!) and potable water consumption? What are the disadvantages, really? Besides having to make an extra effort to break old habits, what harm does reducing the above items have on your personal life? The way I see it, if you are able to reduce your energy use you are saving yourself big bucks. And who doesn’t like to hold onto more of their hard-earned moola? *shrug* Just my 2 cents, really.
I was inspired by LofLife to calculate my own carbon footprint. This is how I measured up:

My (estimated) greenhouse gas emissions are 24 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent per year, which is below the U.S. national average. (Yay!) But it could be better, couldn’t it?

Great! Curious to see how everyone measures up with the average? If any of you care to share, please do!
