2009 Seating Roundup, Part Two

184 Eve: This unique concept chair, designed by Piero Lissoni, is extremely light and minimalistic, for which Lissoni offers a palindromic, bidirectional interpretation. The simple geometric frame exudes more warmth in the wooden version – walnut, natural or black stained ashwood – becoming an ideal complement for domestic spaces. With a stronger and more striking character, the version in aluminum alloy adapts perfectly to work and public spaces.
Glide: Designer Monica Forster created this chair that features a sleek and comfortable polyurethane foam seat. Available in a variety of colors and leathers. (I think leather would be nice!)
Marquis Bench: The core principal of Chad’s work is to cross-pollinate fine art with design by making art more accessible and tactile, and to give every day objects greater context. The Marquis bench is made of cypress and leather. If you look closely at the top, you’ll see leather cushions in the design.
Deconstructive Table: Also designed by Chad Jensen in collaboration with ceramicist Jordan Smith. This table has a wood top with ceramic base.
Mark II: Clean, rectilinear lines and thoughtful attention to detail create modern guest seating that’s approachable and accommodating. Upholstered and wood back styles, both available with optional upholstered arm caps. Designed for disassembly and produced with low impact materials and finishes.
Tennis/Hex: This chair is composed entirely of recycled tennis balls strung together with polyester cord. There’s also a hollow alternative that affixes the court castoffs to a plastic drum core. (My dog would love me forever if I bought this and I would constantly have to keep an eye on him!)

I have to agree with you, Daniella. It’s a great looking chair – love the aluminum and shape.
