Blog Award: Honest Scrap
Posted on | September 30, 2009 | 8 Comments
A big thank you to In The Tweeds for honoring me with the Honest Scrap award. These sort of things are right up my alley, so I couldn’t wait to participate!
Here are the rules I must follow, upon receiving this award:
- Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award. (That’s a silly rule! Of course I would say thank you and link back!
). - Share “10 Honest Things” about myself.
- Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
- Tell those 7 people they’ve been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving.
10 Super-Honest Things About Me
- My to-do lists look like they are on crack because I put everything under the sun on them! I will literally write down “wake up early", “eat breakfast",” or “shower" on my list – not because I need a reminder to do such things, lol, but it certainly ups my sense of accomplishment by the end of the day….
- When I was little, I refused to wear jeans and would throw a fit every time I had to. I finally bought a pair (others were borrowed) in the 6th grade… Now I love jeans and can’t get enough of them!
- I love Mexican food and could eat it 24/7/365. Hand me a frozen margarita, some cheese dip, chips + salsa and a chimichanga and I’m in heaven.
- I love the violin and am predisposed to like almost any song that has one in it. But, I can’t play a single instrument… maybe the kazoo but that’s a stretch.
- When the weather turns cold, I start to crave sugar cookies (with sprinkles!) all the time.
- The first concert I ever went to was Dashboard Confessional in 2003. Yeah, I’m embarrassed for myself too.
- From middle school to several months after graduating college, I cut my own hair. Needless to say, I sported the same hairstyle for YEARS and will NEVER do that again.
- I’m so pale I’m translucent.
- I think Pilot’s Razor Point – Extra Fine pens are the best ever. They are perfect for lettering. Is that weird?
- I’m terrified of deep water… So good luck getting me to go scuba diving!
Well, that makes 10 things, but I could probably go on. I like to share random stuff! Now for me to pass on the award to 7 awesome bloggers:
Not all of these blogs are about interior design. For instance, Sparkling Ink has amazing posts with recipes and delicious photos and When I Grow Up is a refreshing and inspirational blog. I wholeheartedly recommend all of these sites!

Hi! Oh my gosh, I feel like i’ve missed out on everyone’s blogging since I was away from Thursday and pretty much all weekend. I’m good though! How’s everything with you? Lots of great posts since Thursday. I am also pale so I feel your pain, in fact I don’t tan at all really, even in the summer. Oh and my first concert was Britney Spears, HA, so it doesn’t get more embarrassing than that… great to learn more about you! I want Mexican food now…
